Strengthening International Student YOUTH Pugwash 

With scores of wonderful people, old and new friends and colleagues, I am mobilizing students, faculty and experts and have joined the Advisory Board of the International Student Youth Pugwash movement in a global collaborative effort to help strengthen new Pugwash-inspired activities engaging students in thinking about nuclear and environmental issues, and the ethical implications and policy imperatives of disruptive developments in science and technology. The Trebuchet is also expanding its Pugwash initiatives to engage in ongoing and emerging crises, in Israel/Palestine, Kashmir, Ukraine and elsewhere. And it is leveraging an intergenerational mentor’s network of experts and practitioners, many of whom were deeply instrumental in my own efforts over decades to educate on international security and existential risk. Many engaged educated, and continue to educate me. And crucially many are my alumni.
