Veda Venkatesh Iyer
I am Veda and I am a student from the School of Arts and Sciences at Sai University. I am from Kochi, Kerala. Some of my interests are psychology, mental health, and international relations. Along with these subjects I am also interested in Literature, music, dance and more like these. Global Challenges has been one of my favorite courses in the past two semesters. Prior to joining Sai university, I had never been exposed to International relations and so when I was introduced to global challenges it was very intriguing.
Jugal Shah
I Jugal from the School of Arts and Sciences, pursuing Economics at Sai University with a keen interest in International Relations, Psychology, and Physics. I enjoy cooking food from around the world and giving them the Indian spice, amongst playing multiple sports and spending a lot of time trying to come up with ways to make the world a better place. I am currently knee-deep in personal finance, and a talk about macroeconomics gives me joy like no other. As an astrophysics enthusiast, and a geek in geopolitics, it is amazing how big the problems of the world are and contrastingly, how small we are, as a species in the universe - just a blip.
Lalith Aditya
I am Adhi from the School of Computing and Data Science, I live in Chennai. My interests are in Cybersecurity, learning about cutting-edge technological products, and analyzing their design. The process I very much enjoy in my life is reading autobiographies of entrepreneurs by which I get a glimpse of their vast and vivid experiences. I love Global Challenges because of the versatility of speakers and the knowledge they provide inspires me. What I admire about the speakers is most of them have created a separate domain of their interest by combining different disciplines across various realms which is unique to them this culmination of knowledge in my view initiates a new career path for upcoming younglings, I find it exceptional and want to know how they do it and how the process works.
Amraditya Pradhan
I am nobody. But trying to connect the dots and pull various branches together.
Currently studying 'Computing and Data Science' from the university, but also into software development, programming bots, electrical engineering, military and warfare.
Born and raised in New Delhi, I have seen high-rise corporate buildings which made me wonder about the how of it. The curiosity of innovation led to my stream of interest to business and entrepreneurship. I am currently working on a startup with my school friend. We are trying to create a solution for journalism and reporting using blockchain.
Credits to Prof Mitchell's lecture, it gave me a dynamic POV of blockchain applications.
Tarun Kumar Reddy
I am Tarun from the School of Computing and Data Science. I was born and brought up in a town called Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh. My interests spread across Finance, Economics, Business, Marketing, Technology, Data Science and Analytics, Environment, etc. Global Challenges course which is a part of Sai University's unique curriculum helped me a lot to explore a wide range variety of domains which made me think beyond the box. Listening to the wisdom of intellectuals across the world helped me think about how to connect the dots, especially to integrate my interests and skills to attain holistic Knowledge.
Ananya Venkatramanan
I'm a student of the School of Arts & Science and I was born and raised in Chennai. I'm interested in Biology, Chemistry, and social justice issues. My hobbies include reading (novels as well as academic journals), and writing. I enjoy the variety of topics covered in this course as well as the engagement from most of the speakers. As someone who tends to not keep up with current global events and politics, I hope to take away a greater sense of responsibility toward the world around me. At SaiU, I hope I can unlearn the habits that I've learned throughout my schooling, including the idea of studying only for grades and constantly comparing myself and my performance to that of my peers.

I am from the school of Computing and Data Science at SaiU and I am from Chennai. I want to integrate the power of biology and computer science and solve the complex problems of society. I would like to pursue research in the fields of computational biology, bioinformatics, or bio-robotics. As the world is moving toward technology and new innovations are coming up every day, I want to channel my creative mindset into breakthrough innovations. I am also interested in topics such as public health, gender equality, and LGBTQ representation. During my time at SaiU, I hope to be involved in solving various global issues.

I'm from Chennai and I'm a student of the school of Arts and Sciences. I am most interested in the intricacies of literature and I’m passionate about creative writing. Growing up, I always believed in the potential power of literature in sparking revolutions and evoking the rights of common people, and learning about the French revolution has further fuelled my belief. I pursue a variety of hobbies including poetry, logo and poster designing (digitally), cognitive puzzles, book reading, and singing. I seek to grow my awareness around various challenges that are happening and I hope to develop an open-minded perspective on current global issues by the end of this course. I would like to pursue research on literature and the effect it has on culture and world affairs.
Swaminaatha Krishnan
I am Swami, from Chennai and currently, I am pursuing an undergraduate course in Computing and Data Science at Sai University. My interests are in the fields of technology, international relations and conflict studies, photography, videography, comparative literature, and film studies. My research interests include complete nuclear disarmament and the Non-Proliferation Treaty, sustainability through machine learning. My hobbies include creating digital music. This course mainly planted the idea in my mind that effective diplomacy and policy-making can work wonders in preventing conflicts and help elevate human rights in regions that are prone to conflict. During my time at SaiU, I hope to find a career path that is dynamic and challenging.
Sai Nila
I'm from Chennai and I’m a student of the school of Arts and Sciences. I'm interested in Psychology and aspiring to become a therapist. I’m passionate about animals and animal rescue. I find it inspiring to see and listen to people who act on their passions while also contributing to the world. That is why this course is positively challenging but also overwhelming at times. What I hope to take away is exposure to all subjects, expansion of knowledge, and hopefully better clarity than what I now have on who I am and who I want to be.
Kaushik Srivatsan
I'm a college freshman from Chennai currently pursuing a degree in Computing & Data Science. I have a keen interest in programming (specifically product development). I am looking to pursue a career involving data and international relations. My time at SaiU has pushed me to think about the problems dealt with in different sectors across the world and ponder over the causes and effects of these vastly different problems. I would like to actively work with and contribute to solving these particular issues as an undergraduate student from a university in India.
Abbinav Sankar Kailasam
I am Abbinav from Chennai, from the school of Computing and Data Science. My main interests lie in data science and mathematics. I also love learning about politics and the power held by different organizations (like the UN), countries, governments, and individuals. I have a deep interest in learning about various ideologies and the need for them (like human rights, women rights, animal rights, religions in the current Era, etc.). My family’s background in finance also drew my interests in finance, stock markets, business, and investments. My ultimate goal is that I want to be someone who can accomplish something that can better many lives around the world.

Hi, I am Sarang from Chennai and am passionate about solving problems and building things with technology. I have always had an interest in the application of science through real-world projects. Over time, this has evolved into an inclination to apply engineering and design principles to develop novel and sustainable technology. The varied backgrounds of the speakers and the depth of their insights have made the Global Challenges course led by Sherman a unique and valuable learning experience for me. The relevance and urgency of the topics makes them more impactful.
Dakshajaa Kashyap
Hello! I'm Dakshajaa Kashyap, from the school of Arts and Sciences at SaiU, Chennai. I love learning and I'm passionate about a wide range of subjects. The social sciences fascinate me and some of my favorite subjects are psychology, sociology and behavioral science along with socioeconomics. The Global Challenges course has helped me discover so many issues and challenges that I was previously unaware of. It has made me want to get out of my bubble of privilege and comfort, understand the world and try to find how I can contribute to it. Through this course, I hope to fully discover the ways in which I can contribute to dealing with the global challenges that we are dealing with.

I am an Arts and Science student at Sai University. I come from a town named Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh. The subjects that interest me the most include biology and computer science, which are becoming a popular combination, as I want to know how both humans and tech function. The Global Challenges course at SaiU has made me more grounded and empathetic to the suffering of others. In studying at SaiU, my hope is to become a person who does not only care about themselves but also the betterment of society. I would love to contribute to make this a beneficial world for the future.

I am from Uttar Pradesh and currently studying in the School of Computing and Data Science at Sai University. I am interested in coding, programming, and playing sports. I would like to advance my skills and I am open to critique and feedback aimed at my betterment. I enjoy exploring unconventional solutions to problems and would like to develop my skills in innovative problem-solving. I am interested in more technical and logic-driven lectures. By the end of my undergraduate, I would like to take away a lot of experiences and skills, as well as an awareness of culture and traditions.

I am Sreepreya Srinivasan from Chennai and I’m from the school of Arts and Sciences. I am an empathetic individual who is deeply passionate about biodiversity and its conservation, neuroscience, and international relations. I would like to be more educated, aware and up to date on what is happening with the world and I wish to learn more about International Relations and hopefully pursue a minor in this area. I hope to take away knowledge not only in my fields of interest but a variety of subjects that would make me a better individual.

I'm Garima, I'm a first-year student from the School of Arts and Sciences at Sai University Chennai. I'm a resident of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. I love reading specifically historical fiction, mythology, and anything and everything related to science, writing, elocution, and spending time with nature thus understanding it. I'm deeply interested in philosophy and in the areas of mental health, I love Astrophysics. I enjoy the new thoughts and opportunities for networking provided by Sai University. During my time at SaiU, I would like to grow into a more confident, open, and globally competent individual.

I'm from Chennai and I am a student in the school of arts and science. My main areas of interest are cognitive neuroscience and psychology. During my time at SaiU, I hope to be able to do independent research in either of these fields. I am also hoping to be able to work with various social outreach programs to provide mental health assistance to the public.
B PAWAN SRINIVAS
I am B Pawan Srinivas from the school of Computing and Data Science. I am keenly interested in learning about and studying Wildlife conservation and Modern Technology. However, the field that I enjoy exploring the most is Computer science (especially coding) and Blockchain Technology. I am trying to make a career for myself in the field of data analysis (particularly in sports). Prior to this course, I did not know much about war strategies and geo-politics. This course also gave me a general idea of how diplomacy works. I would like to understand how modern technology such as AI and ML can impact military strategy.
Ishaan Reddy
I'm Ishaan from Chennai studying in the School of Computing and Data Science at SaiU. I'm interested in Data Science and also have an aptitude for Business. I have greatly enjoyed the international exposure and discussions on current global crises provided at SaiU. I would like to do fieldwork on many of the challenges we have learnt in the classes. For example, I would like to volunteer in NGOs or help out in refugee camps.
Khemchand
My name is Khemchand. I hail from a small village situated in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh which is famous for being the birthplace of Lord Krishna. My research interests are in the fields of merging data analytics and machine learning using mathematical modeling. I enjoy solving small problems in my immediate environment, such as technological, socioeconomic, and climate issues, and I want to scale it across the globe so that I may contribute something useful to society. I got a kickstart to this vision of mine after enrolling in the course the global challenge during my first year of undergrad at SAI University. I absolutely loved the course of the global challenge. I am Anusruthy from Kerala, and I am in the school of Computing and Data science. My interests lie in data science and problem-solving. I would also like to broaden my knowledge of the field of medicine as well as applications of data science in healthcare. In my time at SaiU, I want to grow my real-life problem solving skills in many areas of study, including mental health and pollution.

I am Akash Maurya, a student of Computing and Data Science at Sai university Chennai. I am from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh India. I am a tech enthusiast and a steeper leaning toward advancing technology. I find the course “Global Challenges” to be as the gateway that opens up the ideas to global problems and gives the instinct to work upon using advancing technologies. In addition to this, it also helps in being aware of the actual world problems and being an aware global citizen.

I’m from the school of Computing and Data Science and I have a keen interest in meeting new people and learning new languages. I am a fluent French speaker. I would like to do something great for mankind, that could bring a revolution. As a part of this course, I am getting to know a lot about current global issues. I am interested in computer science domains like data science, machine learning, cybersecurity, and also in computational biology. I am an optimist. I work hard to overcome my shortcomings and try to make the best of myself. I am a quick learner and try to learn from everything possible. I keep an open mind to everything and try to live a stress-free life. Global challenges course has helped me know about a lot of ongoing issues around the world and hearing from the people who are actually involved in these situations helps us get deep insights on these topics.

I am from a small city called Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, I spent all my life in Trichy, and I am very interested in physics, precisely astrophysics, I like to learn more about black holes and ponder over different theories which describe the beginning of the Universe, which does not preclude a god. I am also very much interested in politics and global issues, and I like to connect political philosophy with modern-day issues, trying to find analogies in history that would best describe the status quo. At first, I would not find the Global Challenges course interesting, but throughout the first semester the course just got better and better, we got to meet people from throughout the globe from Pervez Hoodbhoy to Canadian MPs, and we were exposed to the career journey of many different who all forged their path after exploring many fields.
